Robeson private North Fork Botanical Foraging Event with John Mionczynski August 21st, 2023

This foraging educational event will be held on Monday August 21st from 10:00 A.M. through 4:00 P.M. along the North Fork of the Popo Agie River.  John Mionczynski will be discussing the wild indigenous (native) plants that are edible and also medicinal for many different diseases and for health and wellness.  He will discuss what indigenous Native American people have used for thousands of years for food, sicknesses, shelter and also for spiritual purposes.

MEETING PLACE & TIME: We ask that people meet and park their vehicles 15 minutes early at 9:45AM at 542 North Fork Road.  If you have any questions on how to get to the meeting place please contact Lisha Robeson at (307) 216-0196.

BRING NOTEPAD AND PENCIL OR YOU MAY WISH TO RECORD JOHN'S DISCUSSIONS ON YOUR CELL PHONE: Please come prepared with questions, a notepad and pencil or you may wish to use your cell Phone to record John's discussions about the wild plants and trees you will encounter.  John is very knowledgeable about local history as well.  Please keep talking to a minimum and only during breaks and when asking questions so everyone can hear John speak and teach about the botanicals of which he has a vast knowledge.  We encourage people to take photos of the plants and of the experience with John.

BRING A BACKPACK & HIKING ATTIRE: It's important to dress appropriately for easy to moderate hiking.  Bring hiking shoes or boots.  Bring a light jacket in case of rain.  Prepare for being in the sun and wear hats, sunblock if you wish, and bring insect repellent.

FOOD & DRINK: Everyone bring your own snacks and a sack lunch for a short lunch break at 12:30pm.  Please remember to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING PETS:  We know how much we love our pets, however there often is wildlife and pets can cause a lot of distraction in chasing wildlife and can distract from participants educational experience with John.  Please leave your pets at home in the care of family or friends.  Thank you.

THIS EVENT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN AND IS FOR ADULTS ONLY:  This educational experience is is not appropriate for children as it is 6 hours and it's crucial that everyone can hear John speak without interruption or distraction.  Please do bring your knowledge, experience and learning home and teach your children about John's work and share photos of the event with your children.

SIGNATURE WAIVER:  Since there will be some moderate hiking (relatively easy to navigate) that we will be doing there is some risk to participants.  Though highly unlikely, there is a risk of a fall and injury.  American Wilderness Botanicals and John Mionczynski are not held responsible for any risk or injury to any participant.  Also we include the right to use photographs from the event for future use in education for other similar events with John Mionczynski.

REFUND POLICY: American Wilderness Botanicals' refund policy is that there is a 24 hour refund after time of purchase.  After the 24 hour window there are no refunds, however, if you have a need to cancel you are strongly encouraged to contact Ben Scott Clark at (307) 690-8155.  If someone is available (there most often is a waiting list) you can transfer your place to another person who wishes to go and that can work.  In that case we'll refund you 100% and provide another spot for someone to take your place and sign up.  Thank you.
